Working with our communityBecoming money savvy A national strategy to improve Australians’ understanding of money matters has just been launched, and MeritPlan is a partner in implementing it. The Financial Literacy Foundation Program wants Australians to be able to make more informed financial decisions and better manage their money. MeritPlan is taking the program to schools and was recently at Genesis Christian College on Brisbane’s northern outskirts. It’s hoped that by exposing teachers to money matters, they will be better able to transfer their knowledge and attitudes to students in the classroom. The visit to Genesis Christian College also saw MeritPlan donate $1000 to help support the college’s voluntary work in Thailand. Each year, students and teachers from Genesis Christian College travel to Kon Kan province to work in a mission school. 25 July 2005
